We continue to monitor the pandemic in Missouri and the rest of the nation, and we are still planning to hold this year’s annual meeting (the 39th!), at the Lodge of the Four Seasons, Lake of the Ozarks, as scheduled, July 22nd-24th. At this time, attendance is required for points on your loss prevention evaluation. In addition to social distancing and program changes discussed below, we will be providing hand sanitizer to all attendees, and have disposable masks available for each attendee, each day of the conference. The hotel can accommodate conference sessions and meals with appropriate distances, instead of buffet lines we are planning to have plated meals. The opening reception which previously consisted of hors d’oeuvres will also be replaced with a plated dinner. In lieu of a bar, drinks will be ordered from and delivered to the tables (this is subject to change based upon local health orders and hotel functionality). The Wednesday afternoon golf outing will take place; however, the alternate Wednesday group activity will be withheld this year. Wake up early Thursday for the MIRMA 5K Run/Walk (the shirt design is attached) and end the day with a banquet and one of the best comedians around, Michael Joiner. The hotel will be holding its first conference later this month (since the beginning of the pandemic) and additional adjustments will most likely be made before our meeting in late July. We are focused to local and state pertinent health orders related to executing the safest possible conference. Regarding sleeping rooms, MIRMA has a block of rooms set aside at a rate of $133.00. The room block will be held until June 29.
The MIRMA Annual Meeting is also a good opportunity to have your elected officials attend and learn more about the Association. Elected officials may register at almost half of the normal registration rate if the city is registering one person at the regular rate. In addition, this conference is guest friendly. If you choose to bring a guest, they can register to attend several events with you, including the golf outing, 5K, the annual banquet, and Thursday night’s entertainment.
Together we can learn a lot and have a good time doing so at the Lake in July! Please keep in mind the registration forms are due by July 15 and the hotel reservation cut-off is June 29.
